Training does work!
What do you feel about the pictures you take with your camera?

Do you feel in control?

Do you think you ought to be able to take and process better pictures with just a little more knowledge?

Is this your first camera?

Most images taken with a digital camera will show improvement with just some simple adjustments. This is not ‘cheating’ but simply going through a digital ‘development’ process that would have been done in the darkroom for film.

I will give you a fundamental understanding of the basic principles in getting the most from your camera.

I provide one to one training in your own home, working on your computer and camera.

We will work at your pace, putting any extra time into any areas you find difficult.

What geographic area do you cover?

I cover much of Dumfries and Galloway in southwest Scotland, or you can come to our office. If the latter, you really need to have your own laptop computer to get the best from our sessions with you.

How much does it cost?

This can be from as little as £35 per hour including vat. Additional mileage may be charged for locations outside the immediate areas of Dumfries and Castle Douglas.

What should I do next?

Either contact me via the Contact Page page on this website or call on 01557 860078 now to talk through what you would like to achieve.

What Subjects might be covered?

Digital photography is a vast subject. The training I provide is aimed at the beginner to intermediate level.

Typically a ‘mini- introduction course’ for a beginner could contain something of the following:

• What can I do with the images in my camera?
• Transferring Images from your camera (card readers and cables)
• File Storage Formats – what are the different types and quality issues
• An Introduction to Image Sizing and Resolution
• Images for Printing, Web, Screen or Email
• Image Manipulation - a first look at image wide modifications

For more in-depth work we would talk over and select key subjects that you wish to focus on. Below you will find an extract of some of the topics that might be covered. (A full list can be supplied upon request)
