Stained Glass

A stained glass window comes to life with the early morning sun
This is the window that provided the lighting effect to the ‘Illuminated Font’ that you can see elsewhere in the gallery. The challenge here was not only getting a good exposure but also getting enough height to take the picture. A lower viewpoint would have lead to the window excessively tapering towards the top (called converging verticals), which I wanted to avoid. To get the height I needed I had to stand up on two pews; having asked permission first with a quick prayer of course… I made a further correction at processing just leaving a little taper to give a feeling of height.
