It would have been so easy not to have noticed this.

When working in a situation where you are surrounded by the 'big picture' it pays to look into the detail around you. The old port of Palnackie is still a working port and worth a visit, especially if you come when a fishing vessel is unloading its cargo.

This piece of old rope, still with an open knot, was right at my feet on the quay - now well forgotton and walked and driven over by most visitors.
