Buittle Dyke
PreviousNext
A ragged old drystane dyke in the parish of Buittle, Dumfries and Galloway.
I'd been up on this hill many times waiting and watching for a time when there would be dramatic clouds in the sky together with a low evening sun to catch the side of this old wall.
Whilst probably not the best built dyke in Scotland, it has character. That large stone on top was probably in the farmer's way in the adjacent fields - but it must have taken some determined effort to get it on top of the other stones.
