Texture and Abstract

This forms part of the old wooden gates to the town of Buonconvento in southern Tuscany, Italy.

The picture was taken at midday, but the sun was being reflected off the old city walls on either side of the doors, giving a lovely soft slightly side lit effect.

Printed on a large size, the texture really shows up well, so well you can almost catch your finger on a splinter!
